This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use onsms.com, the OnSMS mobile app, or the OnSMS text-messaging service (together, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information: name, mobile phone number, email, ZIP code, language preference, and — for workers — skills, work radius, availability, minimum rate, and optional profile photo; for employers — business name and category.

Consent records: when you opt in to text messages we record the date/time, IP address, device information, and the exact disclosure you agreed to. These records are retained as required to demonstrate consent under applicable law.

Transaction information: jobs posted, offers made, prices, assignments, ratings, and — where escrow payment is used — payment status. Card and bank details are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

Message data: the content, delivery status, and metadata of texts sent and received through the Service.

Location: ZIP-code-level location you provide. We do not track your device's GPS location in the background.

2. How we use information

To match workers with jobs; deliver job alerts and account messages; process offers, assignments, ratings, and payments; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations (including telecommunications consent rules); and improve the Service. We use aggregated, de-identified data for analytics.

3. Text messaging

No sale or sharing of mobile information: Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to operate the OnSMS Service. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

You can stop all messages at any time by replying STOP (or ALTO). See our SMS Terms.

4. When we share information

Between users, only as needed: workers see job details (exact address only after acceptance and confirmation); employers see offering workers' first name, rating, completed-job count, distance, badges, and note. Full contact details are exchanged only after an offer is accepted.

Service providers: messaging delivery (Twilio), payments and identity verification (Stripe), hosting (Railway), and analytics — each bound to use data only to provide their service to us.

Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Retention & deletion

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time in settings or by emailing support@onsms.com; we delete or de-identify personal information, except records we must keep for legal compliance (including consent and opt-out logs, and transaction records required for tax purposes).

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted and logged, and payment credentials are handled exclusively by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately at support@onsms.com of any suspected unauthorized access.

7. Your choices & rights

You may access, correct, or delete your account information in settings; opt out of texts by replying STOP; pause job alerts; and adjust alert frequency. Depending on your state of residence you may have additional rights (access, deletion, portability) — email support@onsms.com to exercise them.

8. Children

The Service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
